SQL Problem Statement:

Query the total population of all cities in CITY where District is California.



Input Format:

The CITY table is described as follows:

CITY Columns




Solution: Using SUM Function (MySQL Query):

SELECT SUM (POPULATION)
FROM CITY
WHERE DISTRICT = 'California';

NOTE: 
  1. SUM is an aggregation function used to calculate the sum of the values of all the records in the specified column name passed to the function.




Sample Output:

339002
